Found a strange brittle star

Don't know what kind he is but he is kinda huge and creepy

Looks like it could be a banded brittle star or a fancy brittle star. Yours looks a little lighter but has the same markings as these.

I have a huge black banded one but I haven't seen this one before till we moved and I was picking off the dead sponge lol

Are they both in the display? Have you had any problems with them and the fish or snails? I have one but it's in my refugium. I've been eating to move it but have read they might so after small fish.

They are both in the DT I feed the big dinner plate size black one clam strips lol I just found the yellow one when we moved

I think the big green hairy ones are called the green death, as they are fish eaters. Rocketeer (jack) has a huge one in his display, which I think he feeds and has had for years with no issues. I think they are good additions to your CUC.

Yeah, my big green sea monster is about 22" across and I've had him for over ten years. He eats better than I do. I don't think he has caught any actual fish yet. I do think he catches my snails and hermit crabs. So I feed him hoping to satisfy his appetite.
