It's a squamosa that came from Troy V. I'm not sure on its age but it has been around a while. It is very healthy and is growing at a good rate...its probably around 12" currently

Here is a little better shot, iPad takes funky blue pics with led

I am glad to see the clam doing well! Randy you've got skills, and a beautiful tank you prove it.

That is not the same clam you guys are thinking of. This one I purchased from Mr. Cob in Sept. 2011 it was only 4 inches at the time. I had him for 6 months, then I gave him to Mark(Rockmp) who had him for almost 2 years, then it went back to my tank for a couple of months until Randy got his tank going again. He was kind enough to take it off my hands. It is a truly spectacular Squamosa!

This is the Squamosa with the long lineage.... Unfortunately shortly after this picture this clam started going down hill. It took about 6 months for its complete demise. I think it was due to photo shock of the halides I was running. When I first introduced it I put it in a lower-light area of the tank. But it proved to still be too much for it. This was one of the saddest lossed I've ever had. Sorry to everyone who loved Squammy:(

Troy, your tank amazes me every time I see it. 20" long blue acropora branches...you just don't see that kinda size in anyone's tanks these days. Everything is just super sized! Is that a ReefBreeders photon 48 I see in the middle? And two of the 16 inches on each side?

It's always a treat to see your tank bud.

That's just made my day ....When did you switch out lights, as I remember correctly, you had halide before.

You are correct, I was an MH guy. However about a year ago I switch to Reefbreeder LEDs. Like Randy said I have 2-16" Value fixures and 1-48" photon, and about 2 months ago I added 2 -36" T5/LED retro kits to fill in the color, and growth I was missing with just LEDs. This seems to be the right recipe so far:)

Thanks Randy, and thanks to you my system has made a terrific baterial/pod recovery. We take the smallest creatures in out take for granted. They add balance to the equation.
