I had very bad experience with one the members here . I need to know what's the appropriate way of leaving a comment or feedback so all should know what I been through and not to repeat that mistake again

That would be nice.... A feed back system...

Most forums have them

Right now we don't have a feedback system. Remember that it would be too easy for one or more folks to thoroughly destroy another's reputation for no other reason than one person doesn't like another. I'm not suggesting that is the case here, just stating one of the obstacles that we would have to overcome before a system could be placed that allowed something like that.

Make it where you are able to see who left the feedback....

Doubt most would do such a thing..

I think its a good idea to have one. This will stop people from getting rip off and also giving good people positive feedbacks. This is the 2nd bad feedback that 've heard from MAASTARD in this month.

It's up to the bod.

What you can do is call for a vote and broach the topic. It would be discussed and then voted on by the membership (CM).

I don't know how we would moderate a false claim against another member though. It could turn into a he said she said thing and we aren't in the habit of moderating off site debates.

Exactly I hve been ripped off not only that he/she hve ignored me for months and not answered any of my messages . Because of that persons reputation i have not said a word here. I have never given a single bad comment out here ever since I been a member . Fact is I really enjoy being here . But when another member breaks their promises and ignores u and ripps you off than I think at least we should get a chance to explain our deal between each other out here openly so we all get an idea what happen . After we all know all know each other because of Maast . It's a social website and we should share out experiences . As long we keep it clean!!!

It's been brought up before. One way to do it would be to show who rated the person and restrict it to a rating of 1 -5 stars without commentary... BOD would need to weigh the pros and cons of introducing this sort of idea.

Up to now, we have always operated under the old "buyer's beware" and made it MAAST's policy not to get involved for either side of a deal gone wrong.

Lucky, I'm still missing a brand new in the box high-dollar pump that I loaned out to a member in a dire emergency. No matter how Saved their tank, even sent them off with hose, fittings and hose clamps because Home Depot was closed. Many emails, PMs or phone calls, I still never got it back. I'm out a $300 pump.

It's kind of a "no good deed goes unpunished" thing.

I understand what u r saying . To be very honest i might never even say out the name of that member out here in public . Its just my frustration speaking and kinda feel insulted when u never got paid well over 450 from not just a newbie kido but well known veteran member here ..

Anyways if that person is reading this god bless you . I just hope don't rip anyone else .

That really ***** Lucky, I am terribly sorry this had to happen to you. You have always been a cool dude.

On another note: Do you remember back in 08-09 era, MAAST used to have an area on our profiles where "friends" and such could leave comments etc.. Its since been removed due to abuse, but I can guarantee what Kristi said above about the 1-5 Stars could def help in your situation.

Aw that sucks man. Hope you get it squared away. I remember when I sold my 180 I gave the guy some nice mh pendants as a free bonus cause he was starting out. Then saw him sell them later I know they were his at that point but wish he had helped someone else out with them instead.

I am not here starting a argument and please feel free to lock the thread if needed . I think make this thread more as discussion forum to get ideas . This a social site been run commercially since we r all here allow to trade at some point . So feedback forum is must . This is just my opinion and many will agree and some won't .
Moderators are doing a great job and there should a feedback form which needs to be moderated very sincerely and be strict and try to keep it calm.

I would like something sort of like what eBay does. That way you can see the people that sent the feedback and take into consideration. Then again r2r "star" rating system about selling works too I would say.

+1 This is a great idea! Star rating system and seller/vendor feedback is a great way to keep things in line and make sure everyone is held accountable.

This discussion is not out of line by a long shot. You're good, and your ideas valid.

We've had this come up several times in the past. Not sure if our current site has the capability to do something like the star system, or if it has the capability at all.

But, truly, if you'd like to see this happen, call for a discussion vote. The charter membership will have the final vote. It's one of the bennies of chartership.

We recently had a member call out another member, and it turned sour quick. It basically became an argument between the groups who agreed, those who disagreed, and those who disagreed with the manner in which it was brought up.

Our own TOU leaves us in a predicament that such calling out of another is almost indistinguishable from attacking another member.

As Allan the charter guy, I like the idea of the star system, and although I've been burned a few times, I've only once outright lost money. The amount was small enough that I could easily write it off. Twice actually.

We have all been burned. I've been left hanging several times and lost money other times. I also know for a fact that Allan has lost a significant amount from a person he trusted that is well known here as well. It happens, but still sucks.

I will echo what others have said that it has been brought up before several times and several times we could not picture a best case scenario. The scary part of it is the accusations of over modding or not modding or playing favoritism as the mods and bod have been accused of several times.

I would support the vote to activate some sort of feedback system. I feel it would lessen the impact of those that do try to take advantage of others.

Again, bring it up for discussion and charter member vote. Any ides that charter members have May be brought up for discussion. This is the people's site.

Star rating is a good idea but the star rating is limited out to tell others Satisfied or not Satisfied but doesn't warn other folks the buyer's or seller's past experiences with others . I like the idea how ebay does leaving a few words point to point explanation regarding the deal on ones personal page so its not out seen public unless the page has visitors .

I like this.....

I've always wondered who I am letting into my house as well....but i've never had a bad experience with anyone in my home...

I've been stood up a few times, but that ****es off the wife more than me.. Lol

But it would be nice to know who not to waste your time on....

Like i said, dont make the feedback anonymous and I'm sure it will be kept honest. It will keep ppl honest as well ImO..

But at a certain point this begins to sound like eBay... MAAST isn't eBay, in fact buying and selling on MAAST is a distant second to its primary focus which is outlined on the home page.

350gt
Wed, 9th Apr 2014, 09:23 AM
Selling and buying is a big part here, sad to say.... Most charter up to sell..... From what ive heard from most of the folks....

Ebay isnt a bad thing either...

LuckySingh
Wed, 9th Apr 2014, 09:26 AM
I am sorry if it does sound like eBay , I should've use other examples like r2r lets u do star rating plus feed back .

Also I know exactly what boards point is . I know your all's job is not easy , to me specially MODs job is like nightmare . We also cannot deny a fact we selling stuff here and using Maast as a base . There has be a solid appropriate way to warn people

Listen, let's take a knee and let the OP go in the direction it was intended to.

If any of you feel strongly about calling for a vote to institute a feedback measure of some sort, contact a member of the bod or publicly call for a vote.

This particular thread will have to stay on course. No naming folks, no discussing how or why of anything will serve the OP purpose.

Which is exactly why we need some sort of rating system. We should all know who may not be trust worthy so that those of us who are can continue trading and lending out in good will with out worrying about this sort of bs. As long as the untrustworthy people aren't called out in some fashion they will continue taking advantage of good will. It sounds like there are a couple of serial offenders.

that's what we need to do!!
Maast page ask us to charter up for privileges . I wonder what would that means !!!!

If Maast does allow posts like appreciating a deal saying I was so happy with such and so than why allow us warning BEWARE

Bill S
Wed, 9th Apr 2014, 11:13 AM
This "problem" has come up several times in the past. The problem is that we inherently trust people we "meet" on MAAST. One of the problems we've had in the past is that when there IS a dishonest person, there's no way to out them, and they are allowed to become serial abusers under the radar. And then we are surprised when it finally comes to light.

So, in conclusion, if we are allowed buy/sell/trade, we really should have a ratings system in place.

Alrighty! I like a lot if the ideas I hearing from our members. I have taken this into advisement and will begin a discussion with the Board of Directors. It will take some time to hammer out a plan but we will come up with some feasible options and will allow the charter members to vote on which option they like best. It may take a week or two but I will create a thread and present the available options. Charter members will have the ability to vote for the the option they think is best.

I will now consider this matter closed until such a time that the BoD reviews it. Thank you for your ideas!

also i like knowing if i should pass over people and go to someone with better reputation. most of the time when i talk to other people they have been screwed over by the same people and they keep doing it over and over because they get away with it

If my opinion if the board is considering one way or the other we can take references from the other sites .

1)
Let both intend parties buyer/seller either open a thread under a designated area and let them make their point .
Now when the MODS think the point has been made lock the thread or if it gets out of hand take such action or clean it . Should be 0 tolerance policy . Keep it point to point . No one pokes their nose in or judge anyone . Just the buyer and seller .

2)
As I stated earlier Only point system won't work because it doesn't tells much . Point system is good but also should be a way where we can write line or two (limit this out ) on ones personal page where it's not shown out public but only if the page has visitors .

I do understand the consequences where this might won't work in the beginning and mods are getting criticized of being bias with their known ones but eventually will get smooth out as we are all mature here .
Again since we all allow here to make sales and trade feedbacks will help and should be must .

Thou I prefer the 1st option so I blah blah more . Just kidding

I've been on forums where they have a trader rating. The trader rating number, shows up right under your avatar and post count. It basically just gives a number of successful buys/sells/trades. Positive feedback +1, negative feedback -1. Can leave a simple comment next to it stating whether you were satisfied, or dissatisfied. There would need to be someone verifying there authenticity to be sure someone isn't fluffing a rating or giving someone negative because they don't like them.
