I'm thinking about changing out the PC bulbs in my biocube to LEDs. Just not sure what colors or anything I would need for maximum coral color and growth. I have softies and 1 acan in my tank. Any suggestions on led brand and color/wattage etc is really appreciated.

I retrofitted 3 ecoxotic panarama pros into my 28gal nanocube. I realize the biocube is somewhat different; however, maybe you can get some ideas. You'll have to search ecoxotic retrofit with my screen name on youtube.

Thats what i like about the panoramas, you can add them as strips and as your budget allows... I had 3 in a 24 gallon aquapod.....

I also was trying to figure out what to get for my biocube 29. I ended up opting with the aquastyleonline.com 36 led kit.
I went with them due to price. 160 with shipping. If I had the extra money I would have gone with steves led. I should be assembling the kit in the next couple of days. I'll keep you posted on the end results I you wanna know.

I will search for sure. I've thought about the ecoxotic but I have no knowledge on how to put them in the lid or anything. I'm very new at retrofitting

Easy, just remove all the lighting hardware of the PCs.... Bolt down strips in place of the pc bulbs... Link together and put on timer....
With 3 strips, you could have 2 come on as actinics and one for daylight....
You would need the
3 strips
1 2 or 3 way splitter which i have
2 power supplies
Very simple and if a issues should occur, you could always replace a single strip.... You wont lose all or most of your lighting like ive seen with some DIY set ups....

With which ever way you go, leave the fans in place....

I fitted my 29 gallon biocube with my 14 gallon LED kit from Rapid LED. I didn’t want to buy a whole new setup since I wasn’t running it at full power to begin with on the 14gallon so I just used it on my 29 gallon. I’m still not running it at full power. Works great and I’m growing everything in the tank. SPS, LPS and soft corals. I installed mine like this so I could always take them out and add back the original lights if i need to sale it later.

Sorry it took a while, Well All done with my 36 LED (added an extra 2 so now 38) from Aquastyleonline.com I'm extremely happy with the results. As far as difficulty I'd have to say it was moderatley difficult if you don't have any experience with soldering. I'm not an expert but I was able to get through it. If you do go this route, the best advice I can give is to pre-tin the wires and the LEDs. I didn't figure that out till half way through. Also, Make sure you have all the lights planned out and have them arranged so that the + and- are aligned so the wiring will be easy (once again I didn't figure this out till halfway) All and All I am very happy with the colors. the kit came with I opted for a 50/50 of 10K and 6500K. so that's 18 whites, and I used 14 RB, 4 violet Atinic and 2 Reds. It's been on for a day or two and the tank temp is staying solid at 77. I've added photos, some with pure colors, some all whites and a mix. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Oh and my tank is still cycling so it's empty- I'm sure it will look much better once i get some corals and fish in there.
