I know these fish are a long shot but if anyone had one of these that are heathy and no longer want them I have few things to offer. I have a heathy queen angelfish I could trade for an achillies tang or a purple tang. I also have a one spot foxface and bi color angel I'd trade for a clown tang. Please let me know

T, you are probably asking for trouble putting a clown and an achilles together. They are both fairly aggressive tangs. And I'm being sarcastic - they are likely to kill each other.

thanks for that advice bstreep. i didnt think they would be that aggressive towards each other. I just really like the colors in the clown tang. so now i guess i'll just settle for which ever one i get first. I know im really interested in the purple tang. How would a clown and Purple get along. I was also thinking about getting a whitecheeck tang. so maybe i just need some input, because i do already have a yellow belly hippo tang. How aggressive is you chevron tang 350gt.

Atm he isnt aggressive..
I have a purple, yellow, bristletooth, and the chevron all in the same 5' tank with other fish... No fighting. I had a naso in here too but got rid of him to lighten my bioload, but they all got along for the most part.

judging by your post back in feb about trading your 125 im assuming thats what you have your hippo tang in? i would suggest a more mellow tang like a yellow eye, when young theyre a very pretty maroon brown orange shade, with of course a yellow eye, later on they get a bit darker but theyre eye and pec fins stay bright. heres a pic of mine to help your visualize it in your tank,

My tangs have gotten more aggressive the older they become. My dominant order in my tank is dejardini, blue hippo, purple then yellow. These are in my 375g and if I was to add another it would be killed instantly I'm quite sure. I say the order as it shows you every fish is different. The Achilles, sohal, and purple are known to be fairly aggressive tangs though so I try not to add them to the same tank. I love the Achilles but now it is too late to try and add him for me.

Sorry as I know this is off topic but I just wanted to help you make an informed decision. Also I have heard if quite a few ppl losing their clown tangs after little while. I am not sure of this is because of their diet or what but you might want to look into it if you still want the clown tang.

Preciate you 350gt. Yea i would love to get a bigger tank but no one is really interested in my 125 gallon thats why i was goin to trade out some of my bigger fish for the tangs. I'm not really interested in the yellow eye key hole. It use to be fasinating to me but after going to different stores and looking at other tangs I have became more fascinated with the purple tang/achillies and whitecheek. i know i asked for a clown but i only like the clown tang because of the colors. right now i currently only have 8 fish in my tank24068

the first three are the ones id like to trade out well at least my foxface and my bi color angel. and if i get the right offer for my queen angel he is gone too. I have just become interested in the tangs for some reason and id like to at least add two more to my tank with or without a trade of a fish that is currently in my tank.

thanks i preciate everyone input and i am very open to suggestions. As ive said the purple tang is a definiate want but if any one can suggest what other tang i should throw into the mix it will be highly appreciate it. whether i end up trading fish or not i would love to get a purple tang and so once i do add a purple tang there will be no more additions to this tank .

I decided to give up on Clown Tangs I think I'll get a powder blue instead I am also interested in a Bartlett's Anthias fish

Bartlett's anthias do best in groups. They're not so comfortable solo and get stressed, don't fare all that well.
Talk to Ben / Scutterborn about the purple tang. Think he might be ready to sell his.

I currently have nine fish in my tank. I was goin to do one female Bartlett anthias cause I heard it was ok to have females alone. but what do you suggest because I do wanna be able to add a powder blue tang or whitecheek tang

I suggest a trio of Bartlett's which would be the equivalent of one of those larger fish you were talking about moving out. Powder blues are great - but would have to be the last tang you can ever add to the tank. They want to be the dominant fish and would be very aggressive to a newcomer.
