Hello Maast I recently signed up for NuAlgi to send me a trail. I was wondering if any of you have used it or are using it. Any feedback would be great. From what I understand it basically puts in diatoms which eat out the phosphates before any other algae can. If you want to read up on it or if you would like a trail go to nualgiaquarium.com

i just read up about this. Seems interesting to try. I think I might give it a shot as well to see what happens.

does this introduce a new strain of diatoms to the tank or does it introduce ultra small food particles to encourage diatoms to grow?

check out their website. Heres what it says

What’s In Nualgi Aquarium?Nualgi is a patented nano-silica based nano-nutrient formula in size ranges of 5-100 nm. The silica becomes both the carrier for other nutrients and the nutrient by itself.

It contains a special formulation of Fe, Mn, Zn, Co, Cu, Mo, B, S, Ca, Mg, P, K & Si
By providing these essential nutrients on a nano-silica base, less than 100 nano-meters across (that is 400x smaller than a human hair), Nualgi Aquarium will stay suspended in water. This allows nutrients to travel farther and stay suspended in water longer than larger, macro-sized particles – reaching every corner of your tank to increase the bio-availability of the nutrients for easy absorption.

It's a supplement to encourage diatom growth. It doesn't add a new strain of anything. From their FAQ:

OK, I used Nualgi as directed for 2 weeks but nothing has changed in my tank?

The possible reasons Nualgi would not work in a tank are:

1. Over feeding. We recommend feeding once every other day.
2. Poor quality lights and/or incorrect lighting periods. Connect to our forum for specific recommendations
3. Excess nutrients in the water from using nutrient products alongside Nualgi.
4. The water lacks starter diatoms for Nualgi to trigger the diatom bloom. Connect to our forum for specific recommendations.

Still for it being free to try it's not a bad deal. Maybe try it on a nano tank.

Exactly  I'm not dosing anything at the moment so I'm curious what it'll do.

Thank you for that research. I know I have diatoms right now because I just started my 180gal lol.

Hmmm, I'd be curious to see what it does for you. I'm skeptical, but I do use zeovit products so I can't say too much. :)
