I purchased a 250w heater today. I think it's a Ebojager. It's too large and doesn't fit in my sump. What type heater brand/wattage/length are you using and how many?
TIA

Rule of thumb is 3-5 watts per gallon so u should have a minimum of 315w heater. You can choose watever brand and length depends on where you want to put it. Like fits in your sump if u go that route.

I'll be using 2 finnex 300w titanium heaters both controlled by my Apex, one as a backup if the primary fails. These are what I used on my 50 gallon for a bit and they worked extremely well.
I'd HIGHLY recommend using a controller of some sort to avoid heater disasters. The Finnex heaters that I have have NO thermostats, I rely on my Apex for the control.

I've always followed the rule that two smaller heaters are better than one large. If I ran a controller I would not have issue with one large one as I could use the controller to turn it off if the heater malfunctioned.

I use this 150w heater on my 20 gallon:

I strongly recommend a controller or a digital thermostat. Guessing at where to turn the nob on the heater on my 150 caused my tank to lose an extra 5+ gallons to evaporation a week.

probably late to the party but I have 1 - 500 watt finnex titanium in my sump controlled by a reef keeper and it keeps everything steady. if I could do it again I would get two 250 or 300 watt heaters. I have a 93 gallon tank plus sump.
