I've had this guy for about 6 years. He will not be making the migration to the new tank. He's about 2.5" in diameter. Free to the first interested person to respond; must come pick him up.

What does this guy take care of? Pest? Algae?

Urchins are cool. The only thing I worry about them is eating the little starfish.

I've never had them eat starfish. I would have welcomed it in my old tank since exploded with asterina starfish at one point. I did have two pencil urchins that would eat SPS. SPS in one end and oolite sand out of the other end.

It is a pincushion urchin and mine would strip rock the rock bare and leave it brand new white. Mine never ate coral though.

Yeah, pin cushions are good but will carry frags around on their back. I never minded. The one in the picture is a short spine urchin and shouldn't carry around frags or eat coral. Urchins are like crabs though, they can't be fully trusted.

The urchin depicted in the op is a short spined urchin not pin cushion. They are awesome herbivores and will keep you tank algae free. I had one for about 4 months and gave it to someone on maast after it cleaned my tank up.
