I am using a hang on Remora C and thought of going to a in-sump skimmer, problem is having to use the small section of the sump as the middle and larger section as the UV ster pump and 2 Mag 12 return pumps. Thoughts?

Also look at the skimmers with the pump under the housing. Someone had one for sale on the forum to get an idea of what I'm talking about. I think swc and bubble magus are a couple of the companies that make them.

Octopus and bubble king also have that. Bubble king is really high end though.

There are a bunch if cone style skimmers that have the pump inside the bottom of the cone. SWC, SCA, CSS, bubble magus, etc...take a look around. The SCA-302 is pretty cheap if your trying to stay within a certain budget.

Wow those are big pumps. I use 1 mag 9.5 return pump in my 29 gallon sump for my 90 gallon tank. I've used the same pump for 3 years and never had any issues. my skimmer is a recirculating Octopus and I use a mag 5 for that one.

Yeah it seems like a lot but maybe he doesn't use power heads or maybe he runs stuff off of them.

The current tank with the two Mag 12s are a 75 gal and no other power heads used. I am going to a 125 gal and felt I would upgrade from the Remora that I have been using for many years. I will wait and see how the 12s work w/o adding additional pumps in tank. I ordered the SCA-303 150 gal on amazon for $139 shipped

Best in sump skimmer with a small foot print is the ssa es5. Its a work horse of a skimmer and runs dead silent. Easy to take apart and clean as well.

If you can squeeze a few more inches, the nac 3.5 will work

I was able to get the sca-303 to work just great and just had to move a few rocks and one of the mag pumps to the other side in the sump
