Oh they could. But I had the common sense to dial it down to low and then ramp it up. Ha

I ordered mine from fish-street.com, got them in about 2 weeks from China. They are great, and provide tremendious flow.

I almost went with the wp-40. But now that I have the 25 I'm glad I didn't get the 40! It would have been way toooooooo much flow

They are really good pumps for not that much compared to the mp40's

I've got 2 in a 75g, they are awesome pumps.

Two isn't too much in your 75?

Just saw that they recently released a dual pump controller on fish-street.com

Do any of you guys use the light sensor? If not do you dial it down at night or just leave it set the same all the time?

I heard the light sensor on them isn't made for the bright light that we use. I don't have one but just passing along what I read about them. Maybe they have changed the sensor as well.

I read that too. Unfortunately I didn't even get to find out cause I immediately lost the little sensor when I opened the box. I was a little eager to get it into my tank before the wife came home and caught me

I set mine to lock the speed and then connected it via timer to turn off at night.

Totally off at night? How many hours?

I run it with an mp40 during the day and then off when the lights are scheduled to go off. Then on again when my lighting schedule kicks in. My mp40 provides some flow during the overnight hours but at a minimal level.
