i was trying to maneuver around my lights while fixing a rock at the bottom of the tank. well this didnt work out how i envisioned and the end where the bulbs pop into dipped into the water for a few seconds. i was able to pull it out while killing the power and as far as i saw, nothing was damaged by any shock... lol.
i did leave the lights out all night in hopes of it drying/ airing out, but this morning when i plugged them in i heard some pops. i killed the power again, popped out the lights and rested them against the wall facing down.
i figure these things are meant to take a bit of water damage and im hoping they will fully dry tonight, but im really unsure at this moment.
any sort of reassurence or horror stories with happy endings will help.

What kind of lights? I'd open them up if possible and put a fan on them ASAP. Also, make sure it's completely dry in the areas you can get to with a rag or towel, salt creep is pretty nasty stuff.

I'd suggest rinsing with RO/DI AFTER UNPLUGGING IT. That'll help clear out impurities. I've dropped electronics in SW before and have always had better results after rinsing it then drying it. We had a member drop his AI Vega into his tank while it was on. He did the same thing I do and his light is still working.

Not good with the lights. What lights are they?
Even if you sit them out over night, the water wont evaporate, its still there.

For other electronics, have had good luck turning oven on low and placing wet item near it, to help it dry out. Obviously not in the oven, not looking to bake it, just using the heat to dry it. Not sure if it would work for lights, but certainly worth a try. Good luck
