After 10 minutes of setting up my 120 I found out why I was loosing so much water(I knew I wasn't evaporating that quikly) that my 20 long sump was leaking. For now I've got a 29 gal tank set up to house my skimmer and return pump.

My question is, should I go with a wet/dry and bio balls, a wet dry with live rock, a wet dry with a million layers of filter pads, just install baffles in my 29, turn it into a closed loop or any other ideas.

I had a problem with cyanocobalamin before I switched over but just treated with chemical clean because I knew I was upgrading soon, to fix any future problems with that should I get a in line UV filter or would I be fine just having a big up bulb hang over my sump area?

I'm looking at two different skimmers. A reef octopus or a bubble mags nap 6...Both are rated for 150gal, I've heard nothing bad about the octos, and I've had no problems with my nac 3.5 so I'm curious as to what everyone thinks?

Any and all input will be helpfull, thank you in advance

I like to work with baffles 1in apart and put LR rubble between them. Filter pads work but you have to clean.
I like the chemiclean too but you will get some hair algae afterwards. just an fyi
Get some test kits and check your levels. Then treat based on your test kit.
Check for nitrates and phosphates and work from there.
Cyano can get under sand. Chemiclean wont treat under the sand. So cyano will come back, amongst other reasons.
How tall is the sand level?

I've got a lot smaller sand bed in my 120 compared to my 55, I've only got 45 lbs of new crushed coral not sand in my 120. My stupid 5 inch lawn mower blenny kept digging huge arse craters in my sand, sand bed in my 55, with the huge 30 lbs base rock I used it makes my sand bed 1.5 to 2 inches. I'm not having cyano problems at the moment, I just want to be proactive.
