im wondering if prices will stay the same or go higher with AI or lower with ecotech. imo AI's lights look better and have a better spread and what they are priced at is with in the budget of many. Ecotechs on the other hand are over priced for what they do.

"Over priced for what they do" but you've never owned one......

Dont get me wrong, they are pricey but there is many with them and very pleased with what they do...

I almost had them but went with AI... 1st gen radions were hard to get on release, even with them being high priced...

Where?

Many ppl have had issues with the vega and hydras as well...

Too many other factors than just brand of light.

First, I've never had an AI fixture.

Second, I have a radion pro (not gen 3) on a 20l and couldn't be happier with light spread, color, and par readings. My only dislike is programming everything through Ecosmart Live.

I've had AI SOLs and a radion pro. Both make a good product but the radion pro is outstanding. I've seen the hydra in person and I've also see the par numbers. It's a nice light but again, I think the radion pro has it beat. I will say this though, the radion pro is twice as expensive but I don't think it's twice as good.

I have tried em both but eventually switched back to halides on my last two tanks . Can't comment on the newer latest versions of either brands

I'm pumped. Can't wait to see what they come up with.

Ai recommends a light every two feet at least the sol and vega from when I was looking to get one. I easily get 30-36" spread out of my gen 2 radions. I couldn't be happier I think the only thing that ai does a little better with their newer lights is the light blending so it's not as bad of a disco effect. Lol but again I'm pumped as this should bring out some nice goodies for us reefers. I wanted the gen 3 but might wait a little longer now.
