Im planning on using gfo and bio-pellets on my next build and i want to know what they do for a reef. Im going to be dosing vibrance and fuel as well as some other things to help the corals.

Keep it simple....

Stay away from the biopellets to you understand your tank and what it really needs....

Are your phosphates high?

If so, then yes.. A simple reactor and a little gfo would help..

Let the tAnk ride out and see what its going to need.... Good sump and skimmer would be my concerns starting over... A good size fuge too... Some might say a fuge doesn't help but they are cool to have and very beneficial imo.. Plus they are very cool to look at...

Then if a skimmer and fuge isnt enough, look into carbon or gfo....

Imo bio pellets are a bandaid, sure they work but what happens when you take that bandaid off? Tanks dont like sudden changes and thats why i think pellets should be left to more experienced reefers that know what to look for....

Not saying it wont work...

But it would be best to either have someone with more experience design it or have one made from acrylic...

Yeah that's the truth. I don't this to look anything like my 90 where it's alive but not happy.
