I dont know about you guys but this salt is only good for melting the ice off my sidewalk. It dont mix well, leaves resedue, and likes to clump. There has gopt to be something better than this garbage. I started last night around 5pm mixing up some salt for a water change today and I stired each 5g bucket for 45min to an hr, let it sit over night and all day while I was at work then get hiome and stir each bucket for 30 min again only to have white powder at t6he bottom of each bucket. This is crazy!!!!

your mix precipitated, something is a miss with your mixing technique. are you using a circulation pump also are you dumping all the salt in one shot

so when you say "stir" what do you use ?
Red Sea rep stated to use it as soon as it mixes clear mixing more than 4 hours is waste.

I've used kent marine now for some time and have used it right away with in 20 mins or less of mixing and it is crystal clear buy the time I use it. I would make sure your salt isn't wet or clumped up kind of sounds like it might be since it dissolves really fast

I use a cheap Cabolt Aquatic MJ 1200, Dr foster and smith has it for $33. Grab something else and you have it shipped free.

I used of Kent for the last 2 years until I switched to Red Sea Coral Pro. The Kent salt would clump. It was a pain. My girlfriend always enjoyed when I did the salt-shaker dance though.

The problem with most salt is they are buffered so heavy to make the magic numbers on there labels so to make you and I happy. Red Sea Coral pro is number one at being difficult to mix up. Definitely need a fairly large pump to mix salt today.

I have not tried Red Sea and I do have a pump. But when I had my 55 gal I mixed with a spoon, with that I used Instant Ocean, both regular and reef crystals, and it mixed just fine that way, may be an option for you till you get a pump.

I don't use this salt but I mix with my hand... never had a problem with that. I've used a pump before but I saw no difference so why bother.

If you're cool with mixing by hand, literally... Then cool..
I just wont or cant see my self sitting around long enough to get it mixed up well enough...
How long does it take by hand?

I was a Kent fan for many years. Then I switched to RC when I had a reef tank. Kent is (or was) made by them under contract, with some tweaks, I'm sure.
Back in the early 70s, there were 2 kinds of salt. IO, and Seven Seas. Seven Seas was made in the warehouse section of the LFS I worked for (it was a huge store - over 1000 tanks of fish). The big competition then was how many elements your salt had. We used to laugh when Fred added gold to his batches. I mean, who got the bag with the flake of gold in it?
Anyway, what this pretty much means is that there isn't a lot of difference between them. Getting calcium to go into solution is always a challenge, especially in the winter with cold water. Try a heater and a pump.
