Need to know which test kit would be my next priority, I currently have these:
API:
Ammonia
Nitrites
Pinpoint test for PH
Salifret:
Nitrates
Calcium
Which I finally was able to discover that I am a bit high with my nitrates, 25 ppm, stupid API inaccuracy, lol. And my calcium is a little low, currently 350 ppm.

Get them in the order aqua sport listed.

Personally, I wouldn't waste money on API. Saliferts just aren't that expensive.

I first got API because I knew no better. I am now finally correcting that problem, which is why I am now buying salifret.

I like the API kit for a new tank. Ammonia and nitrite seems accurate enough and nitrate is good for a ball park estimate. To get more accurate results though, Salifret all the way.
Personally, I'd go for the alk test then phosphate. Coral can generally tolerate phosphate at elevated levels though they may brown out. An alk swing can cause way more damage to certain corals and other inverts. It's sort of a toss up though but definitely one of those two first.

While I'll agree that that are generally fine when new, this can start a bad habit. Too many fish/tanks have been lost because of erroneous testing. Believe me, I know. And swing-arm hydrometers are also low on my list.
I'll also agree that phosphate is a less-important test than alk.
