Hey guys, I'm having trouble with some fishes, my naso tang died about a month ago for no reason, now yesterday my angel fish refused to eat and he was hiding all day, and today my powder blue looked real rough, all my parameters are good except for my Mg, that is always high and I'm never able to lower it, around 1500, is this hurting my fishes? Tank has been running for over a year, I have a 10g tank that I use for acclamation and medication where I put the powder blue, please any input will help. I did add another naso tang but was smaller than the one that died

Not sure from where, the water heater is brand new , where are the most common places I can get stray voltage from?

Mag is high for sure. tank size, pics, ro/di, but stray voltage will do it. As mentioned before. We had a return pump in wifes cube go bad. She could not feel the voltage when she fed but I did for sure. I had a cut on my hand and had a good zing when I had my hand in sw. If no voltage what tank size and are you using ro/di? Tangs like the cleaner wrasse too.
edit your skimmers not overflowing ?

It's a 125 gal with 50 gal sump, i don't feel any voltage when I touch the water but I'll double check. One of my circulation pumps has been making noise when it comes on, I think the motor is going bad from turning on and off. I do have a cleaner wrasse in there , and I don't know how to post pics on here

Mg is not the cause of this, people had raised their Mg to higher than 1500 to kill algea with no effect on livestocks. Your fishes either have ich or somekind of fluke, whatever killed your Naso is still in the tank, Adding a new fish will trigger it by creating more stress to the current fishes. Do the fish head twik, shake alot, rapid breathing, any sign of ich? a closeup shot of the fishes will help out alot. You can do a in tank treatment with Prazipro or set up a QT {something bigger than a 10g} with the right medication.

+1. I've ran 1600+ mag for months at a time with no ill effects on fish. Try different foods with garlic to keep them eating. Whatever it is, they'll stand a better chance if they're still eating well.

Is that treatment reef safe? I would rather treat the whole tank to treat all the fish and irradicate it from my tank, not only that but it would be hard to catch each fish to treat separately, well I just got home and the tang is dead, the blue angel still looking good but not eating, I would like to save this one since he was rather pricey
