I'm currently using a 20l with a HOB filter, small PH and Tunze 9004 skimmer to hold some softies that'll go in the 185. I'm going to move everything over into a few buckets and set up a 40b then use the 20l for a sump. I'm not sure if I want to bother with baffles or not. Besides a bubble trap, I don't really need them.

Tonight I ordered a nano Tunze osmolater and a Aquamaxx coneS skimmer. The skimmer should be way oversized for the tank but it think it'll do just fine. I'm hoping that with the big skimmer I won't need a refugium. Since it's a frag tank, there won't be much feeding happening. It'll be lit with two SOL white fixtures.

Here's a pic of the tank and stand:

I have a big piece of eggcrate that'll basically be a shelf in the tank. I plan on having some LR in the display and some in the sump just for bio filtration. Again, I'm hoping to keep this on pretty simple.

Im doing the same exact thing. Im building a stand for a 40 gal. I want to run it sump-less and just use an aqueon filter. I have some small fish, couple of clowns and maybe one of my mandarins I wanna move in there with as many zoas as I can fit. I have leds lighting my 90 so im gunna put those on the 40 and just put the old t-5 on my 90. good luck.
