View Full Version : Chalice and Favia placement

Where is the best place to put these corals. I have two chalices on the rocks, one favia on the sand and a second on the rocks. One of my chalices is barely alive. I'm trying to save it. I know they perfer low flow or indirect flow. Not sure on much else.

Some I have had do better in the shade and are real sensitive to light,

the chalices i got are hollywood stunner, pumpkin, and leprachuan pot of gold. Favias I got are christmas and war. the leprachaun is hanging on with two small eyes left and im tryin g to save it. the mother colony is sweet.

Low flow is a must. Most need low light and placed more at an angle/horizontal. If chalices are small, sand bed could kill them by being accidently covered…few chalices like Hollywood stunner don’t mind higher lighting and flow…but this chalice is one of the exceptions.
