Hello,

Refer to attached sketch for body outline. The length of these guys varies from approximately 1/64 to 1/16. Color varies from tan/brown to an orange/red. I've seen a large increase of these guys on my glass. Problem is for the first time I saw them gathering on my sps coral and this makes me wonder if they've been the culprit of my previous/current sps lose. I tried to take as good of a photo as I could of where they are gathering on my red planet frag, see photo. I circled one of them, but you can see there are a many others. Please help identify and let me know if I need to eliminate them. If so, how can I eliminate them without harming my corals?

Im guessing flatworms. http://www.ronshimek.com/flatworms.html And yes, they should be eliminated if your able to. I have never had any problem with them but I only keep lps and a toadstool. Good luck. I have heard they are bad news!

Looks like red bug.

I've treated with interceptor and have dipped coral in a poison bath insecticide. But you can't dose the tank like that.

Site has been down each time I've logged on, until now, but I've determined that the critters in question are red planaria (flatworms). I decided to move my melanarus a little earlier from QT and I'm sure he'll get things in control quick. Thanks again

Good call, definitely flatworms after looking at the sketch of its shape and your melanaurus should help you out.
