Hello every one. Welcome to MAAST 2014!

I'd like to accomplish a great year with y'all. Hopefully we'll all have a fun year.

Now I'd like you to work a little. 😄

I'd like some feedback on THIS thread. What sort of meeting topics are y'all interested in?

I know some of these we have done, but I wasnt able to attend:

Fragging
DIY Food
lighting
plumbing would be a good idea as well

Tank tours are great, but can be a pain to organize. Still we haven't done one in a long while.

A monthly open house. One volunteer opens their house 1 day a month for a few hours for MAASTards to come by and see the tank and talk fish (say a Sunday from 2-5pm). With A new volunteer each month, people could see 12 tanks.

Just a small hijack.... lol Sorry Ben. :) Anyone one person or persons wishing to volunteer as an EVENTS PLANNER are welcome to contact any of the current board members for more info and procedures..... ;)

I am totally stealing this idea for a meeting from a conversation I had with James Fatheree: (but since that idea Mike posted about doing open houses was totally stolen from me - ahem :) - I guess that I could just take the credit for it!)

Idea: everyone brings their water test kits of all different brands and ages and we do a comparison study by testing different water samples to see the variety of responses we get and to what extent they agree. This would be fun, inexpensive, educational, and very easy to organize.

+1 for tank tours independent of the open house suggestion... I have always loved doing tank tours. So fun!

That'd be cool, maybe even a controller meeting with an apex and da and setup tutorials?

+1 ^ also what about plumbing? Many people are having questions on that.

What about doing a tank overhaul? For people who kinda piece their tank together as they went along and want to reef scape their rock, redo plumbing and/or fine tune their lights or anything else they need help with. Just a thought

Controller thing would be cool......

Demo how they can prevent numerous things... But who would be willing to rip theirs of the tank for the day?

I really like the video idea. And the tank tour. I'm going to be setting up a 180gal in Feb/mar area and i missed the rock setup that happened last year i would love a video on it.

How about recoding meeting or certain topics from meetings and post in designated areas as a video on how to. Example: fragging - how to pros and cons, Apex - how to pros and cons, RKL - how to pros and cons, rock setup, etc.

Good point on the video presentations. I know this idea was tossed around a few times and would love to see it put into motion this year.
