Just got my tank yesterday, took the dimensions in and it comes to 123.4 Gallons. So I guess I go in large tanks now.

I will post pictures as soon as I can on progress of the build. Currently sitting in my garage while I work on a few things to alter on teh stand as well as waiting till I get paid to finish buying all the other stuff I still need to buy.

Quick question for yall though. With tank, stand and canopy its around 77 inches high. I need to be able to put in 2 wave makers and possibly a heater (not sure if the heater I need to purchase will fit in the 55G sump). Of course none of the cords on the heater nor the 2 wave makers are long enough to reach the power strip I will be putting inside the cabinet. Are there any options for me at this point besides extension cords?

Did you factor in the width of the glass? 😜

Other then disassembling the wave makers and rewiring them, I just use extension cords.

Guess that will have to be the route I take. Not comfortable with disassembling the housing and risking it being able to leak water into the electrical parts of it.

Want to thank Terry from Salty Fish Aquariums for coming by and giving a helping hand in setting up the tank.

Here are a few pictures from earlier today while getting it all set up.

Have not seen him in months, not even any evidence he was still alive, well, he is alive and well, our horseshoe crab:

Thank you, I was really surprised he was alive. Found him while I was scooping sand out of the 55. Felt him, and was like, oh here is his dead body, picked him up, and saw him move, I was like, yay!, lol.

Today I added a frag of:
Bam Bam Polyps
Fire and Ice War Coral
Garf Bonsai

Thank you Allan for the great deals on those.

Also got a frag of Kenya Tree from Clowfitch, which sadly did not last long in my tank, which I am still upset about and caused problems in home as well. Within 1 min, maybe less, my wifes Porcupine Puffer shredded it to pieces. I am hoping it leaves everything else alone.

Looks nice. It opened up pretty fast.

Took only a little bit of time, I was actually surprised the majority opened up completely as soon as it did. I know when I first put it in there, with pumps and wavemakers off, only 1 or two were half way out. Within 10 mins of turning everything on 1/4 of them were fully extended. Somewhere between then and 3 hours later, majority of them were fully extended.

I was thinking it would be longer than that :). I think the Pipe Organ is happy.

On a second note,

Just noticed I have alot of bristle worms. And yes, its bristle, looked at lots of photos at both fireworms and bristleworms. I thought they were fireworms at first, but upon closer examination they were bristle worms. Some are quite large. Question is, I know bristle worms can be good for a tank. As long as the population is in moderation, and the size of the worms. Well, how big is to big?

I've never had any problems with them doing anything bad. Mostly come out during feeding or after lights go out. I don't mind having them since they help take care of left over food. Not sure how big is to big.

I dont mind them either since I know they eat alot of the un eaten food and waste.

No more Mr Puffs, got rid of the Porcupine Puffer and the Sergent Major, in their place we picked up 2 clowns. Ocellaris and a Black and White Ocellaris. Wasnt going to post this yet, but after this update to the tank, I just had to.

The update I am referring to is adding a IP WebCam made out of an old Anroid Phone. This way I can still check on my tank even when I am not physically there. Next step is to get my server setup to record and broadcast. So instead of entering the ip of the cam it will be the server instead.

First Image is image directly from the IP WebCam and the second is what it looks like on the outside of the tank.

Finally have added some cheato, think I still need alot more though. Have added a few other things as well. Some Bam Bams from Allan, as well as a garf bonsai and a fire and ice war coral, thank you again Allan, wish I could of made it over when you were tearing your tank down. But have also added a large polyp leather, and orange sponge, and two frags of xenia. Added some more snails, an emerald crab, and a sand sifting star fish as well as my wife could not walk out of the store with out purchasing a Bluespotted Watchman Goby. I will take some pictures as soon as I get a chance.
