What experience do MAAST members have with different gfo? Best, good, and bad? Thanks for your help and support.

Rowaphos has always been a good choice. I picked up the BRS house blend and it was ok.

I always rinse the heck out out of it in RO water before using it. I'm still using a passive method, but plan on putting my reactor on line soon.

+1 on the Rowaphos. I haven't tried anything else, however. Always heard good stuff about it.

I just switched to rowaphos from the cheap BRS stuff, too early for me to say anything about it though. It's especially dirty, so make sure you rinse it as advised.

I've used the BRS brand of GFO, and uncertain of the results. I think the first time I used it my zoas weren't cool with it... but the second time (current) it seems to be no real difference between using it and not using it.

Check with your favorite LFS, if they don't have they should be able to order it

I live for BRS High Capacity GFO best GFO ive used the other brands like 2littlefish and the low grade GFO break up when tumbled and cloud the tank. if its not tumbled it clumps and you will be changing it a lot the high grade little more pricy but worth it to me you can tumble it wont break down

i like rowaphos it doesnt break up and clog as bad as brs high cap did.

BRS Gfo is all I have ever used. I can tell the difference when I use it. The water is clearer and there is less algae on my glass.
