If I get this open & anything is broke - I'm going to flood UPS with calls & emails until it's fixed.

More likely UPS or else they would not received and sent the box from Smith in that condition. Make sure to take a lot of pictures

If nothing is wet it's all probably fine.
Shipping is never fun. If there is an issue it's the vendor that will take care of you anyways. UPS, FedEx, LSO don't offer insurance on livestock anyways : (

You can file a claim with UPS. But be prepared because they usually only refund about 60% of the total cost. The procedure for filing a claim is going to take about a month. Ive done this sooo many times for damaged or lost packages. Since your the recipient you may have to contact the shipper to file the claim.

UPSs fault, they would of not accepted the package from Foster and Smith. But Foster and Smith has excellent customer service, and will replace the order.

F&S will replace it even if it was the shippers fault. FedEx lost a package once and F&S sent another one out no questions. I got the other package a few days later and rejected it so F&S could recoup their loss.
Hopefully there were lots of peanuts and/or air pouches in there. I've had pretty damaged boxes before with no damage to the contents. Good luck.

My personal opinion, but UPS is horrible. I tend to prefer Fedex or even USPS to them for better and faster shipping.... I just got a package from Foster & Smith today, UPS transferred the package yesterday to USPS for delivery today, which I'm cool w since I've known and like my postal delivery man for years, takes really good care of my mail....:)

I ordered:
3 gal pico with light & filter
Pico azoo palm filter
20lb bag of black sand
3 packs of extra filter pads for the azoo palm filter
Upon opening we found that nothing was broken, but yet the corner of the box was wet.
Upon closer inspection I found that the black sand was live sand & the water had found its way out of the bag & into the box.
Other than that - everything still seems to work.
