I am think of spending some of my day off trying to find some fish and or anything cool for my new 55g. But I am not sure where I would have better luck of finding some jetties that aren't getting pounded by waves and would have the best chance of finding some livestock.

I have not been out to the jetties to look for stuff, but I can tell you some of the pros and cons:

Port A's jetties go way out there, however they do get pounded and must keep an eye on the tides. Saying both of those things, it would seem more people go out there to get livestock.

Mustang Island's jetties do not go out very far, but they do not get pounded, at least not the few times I been out to those jetties.

I have seen livestock at both sets of jetties, but if I remember correctly I have seen more at Port A's.

I really like port aransas jetty. And where you catch the fish at doesn't get pounded by the waves. You net in between the rocks.

Looks like a Molly miller Benny. I caugh a few of them last time I was there. Beware they can be a bit aggressive in your aquarium of there is nothing to eat. Nori sheets are a bonus for them.

Actually, that is a Frillfin Goby (Bathygobius soporator)... largest of the gobies you'll find down here.
