Purchased existing 105 rimless setup. Need advice on moving the tank. What are somethings the average person doesn't think of when moving aquarium? Plan on using lots of blankets on floor of truck and around the tank. Has refugium and topoff tank. As much advice as I can get would be greatly appreciated.

Cardboard or moving blankets to ensure the tank doesn't get scratched. Is this tank your buying coming with everything inside of it like rock, sand, fish, and corals?

If live rock is included make sure you keep it moist/wet to minimize the die off of beneficial bacteria in the rock. The sand make sure rinse in saltwater to get as much of the junk its accumulated out. If the funds are there to buy new sand that'd be the best route. If there are fish and corals that need to be moved into the new tank right away it be best to get new sand cause the exsisting sand bed will be disturbed during the tank move and could potentially cause a cycle. If there there is no livestock going into the tank right away use the same sand give it a good cleaning and let the tank sit for a week or two to make sure the tank is stable.

You should be fine then.. Get the system set back up and let it run for a little while before you start adding live stock, take your time I'm looking forward to seeing your progress the 105 rimless is an awesome looking tank and a nice foot print..

Wife is freaked abut my cutting up the carpet, but I am going to set it on the cement. For leveling the tank would shims like you use in a door jam work okay?

That is all I've ever used. Just make sure you have a stout enough stand that it will not bow or use plenty of shims.

I have my 90gal on carpet right now but right now I am wishing that I did cut the carpet underneath it only because we are about to tile the house and I've got 1000lbs sitting there. But it is on the bottom floor of my house and it is perfectly level.
