Hello,
I'm Will, friends call me "hey moron"(I'm not sure how good of friebds they are).
I'm very new to saltwater (three weeks in). I'm 33 maried to my best friend with two pain in the rear kids and one soon to be born. I'm lived in san antonio since 2004 and really like it. I'm a book worm of the fantasy/sci-fi genis. I do wood working out of my garage and would be glad to build anyone here aquarium stands of the cheap--to hierloom quality (if you supply the wood ill charge you what the wood cost, if I supply the wood I will charge 2x what the price of the wood is, or make salty trades :) ).
I have a 37 gal tropical tank for my kiddos with about 15 fishies. I'm working on my 60 gal salt water tank and just about have it ready to start adding live animals....I have a 20 gallon sump thats waiting on me to do the plumbing and get a couple of pumps....friday ill have a skimmer that I'm gettining from one of our fellow maastians.....20 lbs or so of lr/dlr ( yes I need more) 5" to 6" sand bed made from carib sea white and black sand, plant growing substrate, and 100lbs of home depot play sand that I cleaned and filtered out( 6 hours of back porch work), 3 damsels, a halimeda plant, a shaving brush, and some chaeto. I double t5 54w fixture from home depot with a 10000k bulband a plant bulb. I'm going to add 2 more double fixtures one with two atenic bulbs, and one with 2 50/50 bulbs.
Well that's me and my plan pretty much let me know what you think....
Have a great day guys

Welcome to MAAST. Some of us are more MAASTarded than others. :)
Good group of people on here with lots of experience. My main piece of advice is to go slow, oh and maybe get those damsels out of your tank now. 95% chance you will regret it later if you don't. Almost everyone does...

Lol I diddnt want to be too mean in one of my first few post but maastards it is......
Once my tank is cycled I plan on selling/ giving my damsels to Miss Hanna over a Coral Cove if she will take them otherwise ill either throw them in my sump or start a 5 or 10 gallon with them for my son

I'm on the fence with disney doing the holiest of holy space operas....esspecially since they stated they WILL NOT be following the course set by many many authors....I mean come on can't you imagine the total awsomeness of the Thrawn trilogy on the big screen?....that's the hardcore Fanboy in me's response...the little Jedi in me thinks heck yeah man more StarWars movies....hunny get my lightsaber and go put on your Princess Leia slave girl bikini.
I haven't heard bout the new comics though

Hey will, welcome to MAAST.
Got to admit, I was hooked with the Star Wars reference.
You read any robin Hobbs or Ben bova? Right now those are my favorite authors.

I havnt gotten to bova or hobs yet...I started my space opera obsesion (not counting Star Wars) with Beutner and his orphanage series because I ran out of fantasy authors with new books..
I've gone through
HAMILTON----most of his books
THOMAS DE-PRIMA---all of his books (kind of a alternate universe Honor Harington
DAVID WEBBER-----all his main line honorverse (none of the spinoffs yet)
JAY ALLAN---Crimson Worlds series. in the process of reading the newest one thst came out monday
JOHN G. HEMRY/ JACK CAMPBEL----(same author) his Stark trillogy, havnt tried his JAG officer series yet.....his lost fleet series....lost fleet: beyond the frontier up to the last released
MICHAEL R. HICKS -----IN HER NAME SERIES
IAN DOUGLAS----STAR CARRIER SERIES
and a few others here and there.....those where all read in thd last 6 or so months
As for fantasy for me nothing will ever top the works of the late DAVID EDDINGS I cut my reading teeth on his books
R.A. SALVATORE'S Drizzt Do'urden books and I am totally in love with his new book the companions....he brought back Bruenor, Regis, Wulfgar, and Cattie Brea with new backgrounds from birth to the age of 21
Sorry I'm rambling ill stop.
I did want to add some pics of my woodworking in case any of you guys are interested in having me make cabinets and hoods or even out of footprint cabinets for sumps or canister filters
Thanks guys have a great day

I read wheel of time series, but haven't cracked the last book yet.
Also got into the sword of truth series, my son has read it several times.
I read the three books for the origin drizzt, started reading one of the other drizzt books.... I liked the trilogy, but couldn't get interested in the other book.
