NOVEMBER FRAG FEST!!! November 3rd

This fall we are extending an invitation to everyone to come on out to our biggest Frag swap of the year! Open to every reefer, their families and friends.

Date: November 3rd 2013

Shertz Community Center
1400 Shertz Pkwy building #3
Shertz, TX 78154

Charter members and spouse are free
Web members are $10 + $5 for spouse.
Children under 16 are free.
This includes food catered by Snogas BBQ.

Festivities will commence at 1:00pm until 4:00pm

Doors will open for sellers to set up as early as 9:00am

This will be catered and food will be available.

We had a really large turnout last year for this frag swap and we expect to have an even larger turnout for this one. We have some vendors from out of town and even out of state!!

So get your fragging on and let's start getting some stuff ready for it! Remember, the sooner you frag the longer your frags can heal. Well healed frags sell much better than fresh cuts!

Attention sellers. You will need to bring your tanks, power cords, water and lights for this event. We may be able to find folks that have a full table that can share. Please let me know so I can plan this accordingly.

Seller fees are as follows:
Sponsors and charter members sell free!!
Web member sellers - $5
Non sponsor businesses - $50 table fee

Cooler with ice packs or heat packs as needed. If the weather is mild and the cooler is inside the vehicle, you probably won't need heat or cold packs.

I have to build more of a selection (it's growing every month) I honestly hadn't thought about it yet. I was just planning on attending and checking out everyone else's stuff.

I'm new to these forums and understand that there may be some scepticism as to what I have posted. I only have 4 posts and 3 probably say something about Jason.

Couple things.

We are expecting a large turn out for the event. Please be patient.

Those that have turned in RSVP's after the meal head bout deadline. Sorry, we will try to accommodate as many as we can. We cannot guarantee a meal after the deadline.

Saturday night/Sunday morning is daylight savings time. Keep that in mind.

Wow! What a great turnout! I'm very sure I can say this has been a fantastic swap and I'm very pleased with everyone's participation. It went very smoothly. Big thanks to John, Allan and the rest of the BOD who helped.

I donated a frag of the neon green favia/favite brain coral...not sure of the exact name, but cool coral. I got 12 or so more frags of it too. Some pretty big. Had issues of my corals not opening up at the swap. 15 minutes back in the main tank after I got home and they all decide to open! Wish everyone could have seen what I had! (pink fisions, fire and ice, fire and ice morphs, pink hippos, alpha and omega, pz redneck zombies, blow pops, radioactive dragon eyes, eagle eyes, gorilla nipples...and the list goes on!) :( I think my problem was going from not using LEDs at home to using LEDs at the swap. Salnity and temp seemed fine too...I had lots of very nice corals...but you couldnt tell from the looks of it b/c they were being difficult!

Great frag swap, and a big thank you to all involved. I usually am there from start to finish, helping setup and teardown, but circumstances dictated that i couldn't. i wish i could have stayed for Mr. Fox's presentation, but my son and my fish only buddy weren't as interested as i was. Did anyone record his presentation? It was a little disconcerting that most people grabbed their corals and fled when we had Jason there to present. How can we, as a city, hope to host as large a function as Macna without people sticking around long enough to hear one of the greats of coral propagation speak for free? I did enjoy seeing old friends and putting faces to some others, but i think i speak for a number of people when i say that I was kind of disappointed that so few people stuck around for his presentation.

I think the presentation was my fault. I feel as though I waited to long to have it. Most folks had their families with them and I think they wanted to get the kiddos off to something a bit more in their interest range. That's why the crowd thinned pretty quick after all the door prize giveaways. His table was awfully busy and I didn't want to pull him away.😀

Either way it was a blast to have so many wonderful sellers in attendance. I'm really looking forward to the future swaps!

I felt the exact same way. Jason was not used to his maximum potential! I openly invite both of you guys to my place of buisness for a full presentation! I was very amazed at jasons humbleness and calm attitude! He didn't have a chip on his shoulder especially considering he has done more than the average bobbyist to bring this hobby to the next level! PM me asap and lets make this happen!
