I noticed tonight I have these all over my tank. Does anyone know what these might be?

Vermetid snails.

They can be a nuisance, depending on what you keep and how many there are.

I found them growing in patches around my toadstool corals

They put out strings or webs. Some corals tolerate them, others are irritated by them. You can always just break them off. Careful you don't stick one in your hand though. They can be very painful.

There is also a fish that eats them. Someone else else will have to post which one though, I don't remember.

Ehh, I don't know about those vermetid worms. I have very similar things growing in a patch on a side of my rock as well, figured it for aiptasia.

Anybody else care to share their experience with these?

Vermetid snails have a hard shell. Aiptasia are anemones, and look like anemones. If they are soft they could be sponge.

Is aiptasia nocturnal? This morning when I looked in they where all closed up. The other thing is after further inspection last night I didn't see any mucus or webbing. Just short tentacles.
