Seem no matter what I do, still have the stuff. I don't want to use the medicated treatment because I'm read it kills off good bacteria as well and its just a temp fix. I do weekly water changes, sometimes two, added a GFO reactor, cut back fish and coral feeding to once a week, running carbon via a Marineland Magnum 350 and still getting the stuff. Thinking about vodka dosing till I can add a bio pellet reactor. Any other suggestions?

its a crappy battle only thing that helped me was waste away and eco balance, also refresh works well, all by dr tims. i do run bio pellets so not sure if the bacteria work better in-conjunction with dr tim products.

I used chemi-clean. It worked great. I only did a 20% water change. If you are going to use it. Take your carbon out so it does not neutralize the chemi-clean. The chemi-clean will make your protein skimmer run a little crazy. I just took off my collection cup. I added a large airstone to the sump to help oxygenate the water.

I believe you turn the skimmer off during the process..

I left mine running just to help oxygenate the water.

Yes! I did a 20% water change after a few days. I did turn off skimmer because it went crazy of course! After water change adjusted skimmer and pulled the rest out then re adjusted to normal operating range

Just becareful not to let it get directly on SPS, you may lose a colony. I use chemi clean maybe once a year, dillute it in a large container of aquarium water before adding it to the tank.

I've had bad luck with the liquid form of Chemiclean - it didn't work. Love the powdered version.
