Freind or Foe

Found this on a gorgonian i purchased. Not sure what it is. Looks hard shelled, but if its a good guy im afraid to squeeze it and find out. Has a single row of fans out of it so im assuming it as filter feeder of some sort. It does suck in when startled too.
