ive done a lot of research into this. But I wanted to hear from all those experienced on here what is the most efficient and thorough ways to achieve success with fish.

Since I do mostly angelfish they get a drip acclimation from from my water to match LFS or Online water, placed in a seperate bucket with my water for an hour with prazi pro mixed fairly strong, then 10 to 20 minutes in a fresh water dip before going into a QT whether it is my 100 gallon rubbermaid tub or a 30 gallon aquarium for a month before going into my Display tank with other fish. The water in the QT will have Prazi Pro mixed to the proper concentration, filtration is a pond foam filter. The only time this may change if they are the only fish that will be in the tank like my 65 when I placed my Queen Angels. I lost some great fish like a flame angel of my wifes that we had for 10+ years, a Chevron Tang that I had many years, and a pair of bluespot fish because I cheated and did not finish out QT on a angel that was not doing well.

The idea of a freshwater dip blows my mind. Especially for 10-20 minutes.

What is freaky is placing a $200 fish in it!!!! Juveniles normally take very well, almost like "hey this ain't so bad". My last large Regal Angel did very well. Never looked liked it stressed him at all. Some not so well, but I have not lossed any so far? I think you always take your chances, I lost a fish once acclimating it to saltwater.

For the qt tank I have do I need to cycle or anything with a piece of live rock from my other aquarium or just run clean water with water changes?

It all comes down to how often you are willing to test your water parameters and how many water changes you are willing to do. It will also depend on the size of your QT and your stocking density. Not a easy question to answer without more information.

It's a 20 gallon tanks and I was going to do water changes as needed maybe 5 gal a week. The stocking is a fish maybe two at most at the same time. Just as long as needed to ensure their health the move to display tank.

2 weeks with prazipro and 2 weeks of coppersafe, 2-4 weeks after medication. No liverock bc you cant reuse that LR, just 3-4" pvc fitting is fine. No carbon pad in filter bc it will defeat the medication, just biowheel and filter floss ,heater and some powerhead .Cycle your tank with some filtration supply from your established tank will speed up the cycling process.Dont use any equipment from QT to DT even the net. Dont forget to add medication to new water when do WC. Dont change the biowheel and the floss out at the same time. Throw biowheel and filter floss away after QT. Rinse the rest of the QT equipment out with water and little bit of bleach, so you cav be ready for the next fish. Throw some new biowheel in the DT so you can use it for the next one.make sure the fish is healthy and fat before going to DT.

Great advice. I was really determined to qt everything I get but I have fallen off a bit. I think the hardest thing is qt'ing for a new tank. If you're going to spend over a month qt'ing everything, it's going to take a long time to stock a big tank unless you have a lot of qt tanks set up. I guess it's worth it but I've never had any ich outbreaks. I think good nutrition and not overstocking can prevent a lot of problems but certain fish are very prone to outbreaks.

Is it not stressful for the fish to be brought home and immediately started on prazi pro? Or do you do any monitoring. My plan thus far is to monitor for a week or two then possibly go hypo salinity for an extended period then brought back up to normal and monitor for an additional week and treat as needed.
