I've noticed my hammer hasn't been coming all the way out on one of the heads. I just noticed this this morning about 3 hrs after the lights came on. I fed it mysis Saturday and fed the tank some baby brine Sunday evening. I've also noticed my blue Xenia isn't looking so hot either. Some are opened up some arent. I don't know if its from the diatom bloom I'm having or if something else is outa wack.

Parameters in tank? Are you adding iodine for the xenia? If so have you put too much, or none at all. Could affect other corals. Once in a while my blue xenia and regular xenia like to act funny for no apparent reason, and then the next day it was like nothing ever happened. I just got a hammer coral recently and one of the heads was hesitant to come out fully. Maybe something picking on it? After several days the head was back to normal. All along the full colony was open and healthy. Both corals like a little dirty water. Over clean the water can play havoc. Nitrates a big factor too. In my opinion I think all will be fine. Diatom bloom will eat up some of the oxygen. Is this a newer tank?

Tank was setup July 13 and I tested it last week on Thursday everything was 0 execpt my nitrates and phosphates. Which were 80ppm (nitrates) and 5.0ppm (phosphates)

Well theirs your problem...very high nitrates and phosphates. Do a major water change. P/U some de*nitrate...works great and some phosphate reducer. Gotta get those levels down asap. Was this tank started from scratch or seeded from another tank? Doesnt seem like enough time from July until now to have corals in...especially with cylces still occuring. So swings may still occur.

Yeah I took out my all of my lps execpt my hammer cause of the diatoms. My mushrooms, palys, gsp and anthilla look ok but not great.

For me, I know when my nitrates are high b/c my mushrooms shrivel up. Most of my other coral seem to have no affect. Get the water change done sooner than later. Nitrates wont go down right away.

My superman did that and I did a water change and it still does it.

I also moved my cheto from the fuge to the skimmer chamber cause my fuge is too small, it's 5 1/4 long x 14 wide. Which is why I'm talking to ace about a custom sump.
