So I have not been active on this forum in sometime and to be honest if someone had not emailed me last week about it I may have forgotten I joined but someone is watching out for me.

See I live in Round Rock and am moving like 10 miles down the road to cedar park and need to move a 55 gallon tank and a 25 gallon sump, never having done this I am looking for tips of help and tales of caution.

There is no coral, but tons of live rock, a star fish... maybe, and 1 clown fish. I have no clue how to move this or how to do it quickly but any help would be great as I am moving this weekend (8/16/2013)

So any information or help would be amazing as I do not wish to start over even though it is kind of bare at the moment.

Good news everything is first floor so no stairs. Whew.

Anyway great to see you guys still around.

I think it depends on the goals you have for the tank when you get it into your new place. If you want to keep what you have, get some large totes or even a small stock tank to transfer stuff. Ditch your sand and start with new sand. Keep your rock submerged to avoid a cycle. If you need time to plumb things, just put a heater and powerhead in the display and use your sump after everything is replumbed. You might also want to get some bio spira or fritz bacteria and add it to the tank after you move it.

Early in the morning before it gets hot. This time a year the heat will spell trouble.
