View Full Version : Reef octopus skimmer overflowing!!

I just bought a nuvo system with a skimmer. No idea what model. As soon as I plug the skimmer in the collection cup immediately fills with just tank water and I have to unplug it to avoid a huge mess. I've tried removing the collection cup like I Did with my old HOB skimmer. But the foam/water keeps flowing out of the skimmer without the cup and just fills the cup when it's on. Any ideas?

Is there an air valve to restrict air? Some have a pvc tube that your turn, others have what looks like a garden hose *****-et thingy.

Adjust water level in the skimmer

Adjust so that the bubbles are right in the neck of the skimmer, right before the cup....

The valve on the tubing from the pump, have you tried adjusting that?

this black tube with sponge on it should go up and down to adjust the level of water in the skimmer. raise it up and the level in the skimmer will go down
