So tell me what charcoal filters out -and what it doesn't. I am running some charcoal but I also does Iron and Iodine (it's a planted SW tank). Am I BS-ing myself with the dosing because right away I am filtering it back out with the charcoal?

Okay fine I will just give you the answer. lol. Done some reading on my own and I think I will skip the charcoal and just go with Purigen. That targets organic compounds only and leave my supplements alone

i havent run carbon in my tank in over 6-8 months. i read that it takes out too many elements. my water is clear and no odor at all.

Yeah I think what I needed is something for just the organics (because seahorses are fed so heavily) and not to remove anything else. The carbon is not a good fit for me. (It's been a pretty good fit for Brightwell though since I have been dumping their Ferrion into it like nobody's business lol)
