there have been many models of diy denitrators with coils of pipe for a very long time. but if they worked so well why doesnt a big company make them or more people run them? go look on reef central for tanks of the month and see what those guys use filtration wise....must be doing something right?

bashsea makes one

This is inherit with all denitrification processes. Whether its a dsb, a dead area in your tank, or a reactor. I've had my reactor off line for days and started it back up without any issues. A smaller tank might have a problem but a tank of your size will not be affected.

Korallin units are excellent brands. I've had one for almost 5 years now. Schedule 80 fittings so its built to last. For anything larger than a 150 gallon tank you'll want the 3002 model. Aquacave has a skimz brand out of Italy that I want to try.

Caribsea makes a sulphur media, but if you want the best go with aquamedic's sulphur pearls. It doesn't clump and will last at least 4 years without needing to be replaced.

I did a DIY conversion of an Xl next reef reactor. I tapped a hole in the lid to allow for a degassing line and added an old eheim pump to recirculate the water in the

I use korallin sulphur 4002 and it works great on the shark/ray/eel setup. I was working on a DIY setup but my first attempt didnt work but now I understand why since I setup the korallin. Going to try again soon.
