August Meeting - Fragging

What: Fragging demonstration by Sherita

When: Sunday August 18th starting at 1pm


We will be showing different methods and ways to frag a variety of corals.
Members are encouraged to bring colonies that they would like fragged so they can practice. Sherita will be bringing her band saw and several tools for y'all to use.

Participants will need to bring along their own safety glasses for protection.

We will try to include some other topics pertinent to frags and as always we will be more than happy to try to answer any questions that may arise.

Okay I need to get a list of everyone coming this Sunday to the Frag Demonstration put on by Sherita so we can print up the right amount of raffle tickets for a new car donated by Ancira Chevrolet! Thanks Sherri!

Oh wait a minute only President John can pull that off sorry.

But I do need a list of everyone coming and if you can or willing to try fragging for your tank SPS, LPS, or Softies? Just like the fish food meeting everyone left with food, at this meeting everyone will leave with corals.

Also if you have corals you want to frag please bring them and Sherita will slice and dice.

So real simple
Name:
SPS, LPS, or Softie list one, two, or all three (It helps me figure how many corals and what type I am looking for)

We ask that you bring a small ice chest (it is still August and we have covered parking but when you leave your car will probably be 135 in the shade). Sherita will provide small baggies for you to take your frags home in.

So please start posting because I need to start looking for Corals!

I will how ever be bringing a hybrid watermelon chalice called Brian's Baby for Sherita to frag as a demonstration. Those in attendance will be able to purchase those frags once we are done.

I am bringing myself and a coral from ramsey for sherita to cut. If need be I can bring a rock with a ton of those stupid green stripe mushrooms on it. I wouldn't want the frags back though.

I will be there. As Stephanie Garcia mentioned, I have a rock with some simple Palys that I can bring for Sherita to cut. Unfortunately, I had a bad situation with my DIY LED fixture and I am building my reef back up with frags, otherwise I would have offered more to share.

Is this meeting free to the public. I'm new to SA and I'm contemplating putting a reef together, but want to meet folks with a common interest before I get back into the hobby.

I'm glad everyone had a good time and took something away from it. I'm not the most polished public speaker, but I give it one heck of a try :)
