Just got rid of my old sand and want something new. What other color sands are out there and how do they look in a reef setup. I had the Fiji pink sand. Show some pics if you have them.

I've got the Caribsea sea floor special. It's fantastic.

The blue lights on the sand looks cool!

Yeah. The pic is a little deceptive because I'm used my iPhone. I'll see if one of the fancy apps has a white balance adjustment. It's not really quite that blue in person.

Anyone have that black sand or very white sand?

I had the black sand. It had iron in it and stuck to my Magfloat and scratched the heck of my tank. I could never fully get it off the magnet either.

no black sand is an option the one they used was prob not for marine tanks. Elegant Reef carries one that ive been using on my nanos for over a year and it doesnt stick to magnets. petco also carries, the prob is it only comes in small bags so its pricey on big reefs. i use the 30lb bags of special reef grade, its great as its not too fine but fine enough for wrasses.

Be sure you get that brand that Chris is talking about, I got six bags of marine "live sand" and every time I got close to the sand bed I would pick up "sand" with the glass magnet and if my k4 would pop out the impeller, I'd spend a lot of time pulling the metal pieces from the shaft magnet.

I had argasnow and loved it for a sugar fine sand. It didnt stir up like others. Now I switched to the 30 lb bag from elegant. I forget what it's called but its a little courser. My wife likes it more though so that's good. :)
