it is changing like that every day you would be surprised if you had a ph controller that's normal everytime before lights on its low and when lights go out at night it then begins to drop again

Just got a Pin Point PH Monitor, got it the same day where you see the double digits after the decimal point. I just dont keep it on or in the tank all the time. But I do appreciate the feed back Paul. Guess I better make it a certain time everday with turning the lights on everday to better monitor it, or is even that a waste of time to accurately measure the PH levels?

if you have the monitor leave it on all the time :) yeh it is good to test ph many things can drop it , I would test it right before lights out and right as lights come on those are the 2 times it will be at lowest and highest inless you have a party at your house and to mutch co2 is in the air then it will drop real low :)

Thanks for the link, I will be sure to purchase one of those here soon.
It is one of the reasons why I dont keep it in there or on all the time. That will help alot. Only other reason why I dont keep it in there is the limited space I have around the tank, but I will figure that part out soon.

NP there, I dont let it dry out, I keep it within its plastic capsule with salt water from the tank to make sure it does not dry out, not wanting to spend money on new probe anytime soon due to that error.

If you are looking to keep it more stable, alternate the lighting on your sump with your lights on the tank.

I monitor my ph as well with my controller but I'm not sure why. Mine fluctuates throughout the day too, but I haven't seen any ill effects from this. I've also read quite a few posts from people on RC that say not to worry about it unless it's really low. If you're concerned about it though, you could drip kalk at night, just be careful. That will raise your ph.

Yes sorry, was just concerned about it fluctuating and wondered if it was normal, or if I have something worry about. I dont think it is low enough to warrant kalk drips just yet.
