Check your Vortech battery backup!

I tested mine a few days ago and the battery's dead. Luckily, I found a post on RC that explained how to replace the battery. I drilled the rivets out, googled the battery number and I have two on order. Just a reminder to check it because you don't want to find out it's dead in the middle of a power outage.

How did it die? Is it a one time use battery?

No, I've had it for a while, over three years. Like all batteries, they eventually give out and no longer hold a charge (like a car battery). I was happy to find that a replacement is only $50. I also found plans to make a dIY one for about $70.
