Do you have a skimmer on your Nano?

Your thoughts? Do you feel its absolutely needed or not? Have you noticed a difference with or without it?

I'm considering replacing my skimmer that just recently broke on my 28G NanoCube.

Thanks

I have one since I don't want to do a larger water change and not have a lot of softies. I have no qualms. lol

What skimmer do you have? Does it fit in the NanoCube or is it HOB?

I never ran one on my 5 gallon and I don't have one currently on my Nuvo 16 gallon. I just run chemipure elite and weekly water changes with a good clean up crew and it's fine. I think above all water changes are the key, do a good 20% every week and you should be fine.

I have skimmers on both Nuvos and I had a 12g modified nano cube with a skimmer. I still go wkly water changes and run chemo pure elite. Skimmer in 12g was an AquaticLife skimmer.

I have limited experience, so take this with a grain of salt.

I used an Aquatic Life 115 on my old 20L and I was pretty happy with it. Both of my current tanks are filtered by caulerpa prolifera and I'm really happy with that. The key seems to be light dosing of f/w plant fertilizer, like SeaChem Flourish. Of course, in an AIO, you'd have to be content to let it live in the display. I doubt a ball of cheato would have sufficient mass to do what a good skimmer does.
