Hey guys, so I've been looking for ways to set up a refugium for my tank, so I hit up craigslist to see what I could find and I hit jackpot. I found a guy whose tank started leaking and no longer wanted to deal with it. So I bought about 50 lbs of live rock, multiple corals, 6 fishes and his sump and refugium for $50!!! Now his sump and refugium are better than mine and I want to incorporate it into my tank. Now given my limited space under the tank, the only way to put them is side by side. I was thinking of drilling two holes and putting two bulkheads from the right sump into the refugium so that it can just overflow into the refugium, since they are two separate tanks, and putting my return pump on the last in the last chamber. Is this a good idea? Will that be enough flow from the sump into the refugium so that the sump doesn't overflow? Any tips/ideas are appreciated...thanks20763

What amount of flow do you have on your return pump? A completely submerged 2" bulkhead would be enough for almost any system by itself. If you go with 2 bulkheads you would be making the pass through flow more gentle.

I have a Rio 2100 for my return pump and I was gonna use two 1" bulkheads
