Hey people, I want to build my own sump with refugium for my 75 gal tank. I currently running a sump filter but it doesnt have space for refugium and i don't want to get HOB refugium. So my question is, what is the best design ? I do want to have the skimmer in the sump as well... thanks guys

Or have a remote fuge... Would be cheaper and I love how mine isn't attached to my sump....
if your space allows its a simple add on....
i have a tank that is drilled on hand btw ;)
I was planning on up sizing my current fuge but due to space limitations, it wouldn't work..... It could of, I'm just too lazy.....

How do I go about doing a remote fuge? I know what it is, but I don't know how to plumb it.... I know its hard to picture without seeing my sump now, i can post a pic of sump later on today

Pretty much looks like this, except I don't have the middle chamber, I have bio balls on the left, return pump on the right, and my skimmer is HOB

Remote fuge can go just about anywhere you have the space.... Mine is gravity fed, so it's split off of one of my drains with a ball valve to control the flow.... Then with my fuge drilled the water flows slowly into my sump..
I can see if I have a video.....

Give me a minute to find pics of mine. I run an elevated fuge and like Tony I teed off of a drain line. You can also run a small pump from your sump to the new fuge and then drain back into your sump.

OK thanks, I think I'm gonna split one of my drain lines into a separate fuge , I'm thinking a 10 gal tank, drill the fuge tank and elevate it to drain into my return sump...
