I am not offering a group buy in the info below is a link to a store not my store that will sell the Jebao WP40 plus the cost to send to you by USPS.Jebao WP40 Official Group Buyhttp://www.maast.org/styles/art_black/imageset/icon_topic_latest.png (http://www.maast.org/viewtopic.php?p=6191#p6191)by dwnbydasea (http://www.maast.org/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=127) » Sat May 11, 2013 2:17 pm
Hello everyone.

As this is a "group buy" and orignally intended for "paid members' of MARSH only, I have decided to open it to all members of both MARSH and SETRS members. With that in mind, the buy will be treated as a fund raiser for MARSH, $1.00 of every sale will be given back to MARSH to help with future MARSH events.

Sooooo....for the details.

WP40 wavemaker.

Cost per unit......$56.00 you may purchase as many as you would like ( price includes shipping, processing, and $1.00 donation to MARSH)

Duration of Group Buy.....sale begins 5-11 through 5-31 ( note I will be placing the order before hand to expedite the delivery date.)

Delivery.....estimated to be mid June.

Shipping.....all units will be shipped to my store and I will then distribute locally as needed. If there is anyone not local or would prefer, I will provide shipping via USPS for an additional shipping cost.

Now for how to get yours....

Follow this link:

http://shop.downbydasea.com/

Select the WP40 and procede with normal check out.
Upon check out you will find a coupn or code box, enter...........MARSHWP40.....and the price will be adjusted .

Yes the WP25 is available, unfortunately not as a group buy price...

Also one more small note...normally in a group buy if there are any warranty issues with the products when you receive them (doa, missing parts, etc.) you would have to deal with the manufacturer.
Down By Da Sea will be honoring all warranty issues, thats correct I will personally cover any manufacturing issues for up to 30 days. So if your WP40 arrives with any missing parts or is DOA you will not have to worry about dealing with the manufacture back in China, you can come to Down By Da Sea and we will do our best to correct any issues.

Again I hope everyone takes advantage of this opportunity and I hope to do more sponsor buys in the future.

Thanks
James

If you have any questions or I have over looked anything please feel free drop me a PM or email me at james@downbydasea.com

It was a question. Unless I totally misunderstood the post--which I doubt- it stated that the group order by was being extended to members of two other reef forums. No mention of making the group buy available to maast members or any others. Hence my question. It's great that you're passing on info like that but by the same token don't get offended when questions are asked as it is bound to happen. Take your "helpfulness" all the way or not at all.

Psyko,

I did exactly as the posting noted "If you have any questions or I have over looked anything please feel free drop me a PM or email me at james@downbydasea.com (james@downbydasea.com)" before I placed my order it was real easy and the reply was quick. I hope this helped I just figured the posting would be read in full.

Welcome to MAAST James and I understand you are a big basketball fan? So if we mention Akeam the Dream do we an additional discount? Or maybe you could ask a trivial question like which one of the Houston Rockets Point Guards played his high school basketball here at Schertz-Cibolo-UC High School?

Is it possible that the WP25 will also be available on this GB? If so, I am in when the time comes. I want WP40's too, but I need the WP25's as well.

And, thanks for getting things rolling!

Just to keep everyone in the loop, Tunze began sending out cease and desist letters to US retailers distributing the Jebao pumps based on design patent USD567821 S1. Their claim is the design is too similar. To be clear, this is not a patent, but a design patent, which does not protect functionality but cosmetic features alone. Despite what people are saying, it won't stop production of these pumps but it is typically enough to scare smaller vendors from distributing the pumps in the US. Most US retailers have pulled them from their sites in response to this claim. To my knowledge, no lawsuit has been filed against Jebao, but Tunze is attempting to curb the distributors in the US.

I was just at Elegant Reef and Louis looked up the WP40 from one of his wholesalers and the listing was pulled. I am sure Tunze gave them a choice sell ours or theres, not both.

There was no choice, Tunze is threatening action against US vendors attempting to distribute the pump. It's just easier for most small distributors to pull the product then try and fight a lawsuit. You can still get these from the original vendor in Hong Kong and presumptively through a group buy from the manufacturer. My two WP25 are sitting on my front porch right now from a group buy I was part of. :D

MY group buy continues...with caution anyway......I have not received any letters and after discuss with a lawyer and doing some research there are no active law suites between Tunze and Jebao at this time, once they have proven there are patent violations then they will have grounds to stand on ....so with that said I have a meeting Tuesday with my lawyer to make sure of the logistics.

You can't turn them down. Not without a variable voltage power supply or a custom controller.
