Why not jump to the "big" 6 and go 300? I might still have a 223 out of an early 60's truck. If your interested i can try and dig it up.

if i moved up to a 300 id have to weld in new mounts also have to mess with the tranny etc. Ford 144s, 170s and 200s all drop in with out any changes needed.

yes sir, I've spent some time on the fordsix site. Its amazing what one of the 170 or 200s can do with some high quality performance parts like Clifford Headers etc.. Make a mean sound!

This is what I im putting it in

Sweet van!!!! Have you ever looked into Dennis Carpenter? Guy does amazing reproduction parts using ford dies. I used him and LMC for my 63 F100 build. Ive been wanting one of those vans with a bed fer yers...idk what their called but i call em "vancheros"
Since i havent found a vanchero im thinking about building an early 60's ranchero. Id like to use an early bronco frame and power it with either a 95/96 turbo'd out efi 300 or a 4bt cummins diesel engine.

Yep I am familiar with Dennis.
The van/Truck you are talking about are pretty sweet, I just call them Single Cab Econolines. I almost bought one last year from a guy in Austin. Not as hard to find as you may think.

I've been tied up a pair of 95 trucks and I just moved last year and still don't have a garage or a shop so I've been slacking on the search. What I honestly need to find is a 38' ford truck. I'm building a rock crawler and I have practically everything except the vintage skins
