Big surprise when I came home today. One of my Kessil LED's stopped working. Tried the usual stuff. Power cord swap out and switching outlets but nothing worked. I decided to open it up to see if it was a fuse or something I could fix and looking at where the power cable plugs into the circuit board the first thing I saw was a scorch mark. Probably burnt out the circuit board. **** dust. Thinking I was out $400 I checked the warranty and thankfully it's good for 2 years. I did lose the receipt though. I'm hoping Kessil honors the repair since it's only been on the market for 11 months.

Is the warranty still valid if they find out that you physically open the unit.

It was easy to open and put back together. Their was a ton of dust in their which is probably why it burnt out. I was thinking about getting some canned air to clean my other one out before it does the same thing. Has anyone else here ever used canned air on their lights. I've heard of people having issues with their AI Sols malfunctioning. The warranty is good for 2 years in the Kessils and I did manage to find my receipt last night. It's been 11 months and 3 weeks since date of purchase.

I've never used the canned air on my lights. I either run my air hose in from outside or take the lights out to the garage and use the air compressor.

I've used canned air to clean my sol's. A compressor works a lot better though.

I have a portable vacuum that blows air and after using it was a little unimpressed. I'm looking at this on Amazon. Little expensive but it has good reviews and multiple uses.

For that price, you may want to look at a small compressor.

Canned air from office supply stores can be conductive and I think that's where the problem is. Try altex. They have non-conductive canned air. It's a little pricey..but considering the alternative, it not bad.

I bought one of those a while back when I was playing with flipping/repairing flat screen TV's. It works fine but I still ended up just using a little portable pancake compressor. IMO a small compressor would be more bang for your buck and with many more uses.

Ok...Kessil has AMAZING customer service. After calling them today they took all my information and serial number. Not only are they shipping me a replacement light today but they are paying for return shipping once the new one arrives. I think I was on the phone with them for less then 10 minutes. And the rep informed me that they are do have a 2 year warranty. How's that for a slice of fried gold....**** yeah!!!
