Ever since I had my water tested over at Coral Cove, I have noticed that the biggest Scarlet I have has not moved at all, I know he is still alive since he goes in and out of his shell. But he has remained in the same exact spot. Even after 50% water change, he has not moved. Could it be because he is molting, sick or dieing?

What did your water test look like? Any issues?

How big is big? Is he already a senior citizen? Perhaps he's waiting to go on?

Also, goes in and out of his shell? Completely or just the claws and head like they normally do?

Just the heads and claws, no, not senior citizen size. Meant big as the biggest one in my tank, but as far as general aquarium refrence, I would say on the small side of medium., a little smaller than a 50 cent piece.

I had Coral Cove test my nitrites which were 0, Ammonia which was at .1, Nitrates which was at 15ppm, and I think it was phosphate I had her measure, which I do not remember now what it was, but she said it was right on target. PH values were (according to my API test) 8.3

Are you still in a cycle? Ammonia is very toxic to fish and corals and I would assume inverts

Not a 100% sure if cycle is done, just taking reference from Coral Cove, they said everything is good to go to do a 50% water change and start introducing fish. Before I take off to go get fish from petco I am going to do another reading with API Test on Ammonia. As well as taking a small sample with me as well.

Ammonia HAS to be zero. If not, your cycle isn't over.

Was only taking the advice I was given, hope the fish I introduced will be ok. BTW, the Hermit did die, scooped him out about 3 hours ago.
