Havent sold my old tank yet, so since I'm home bound this weekend due to wife studying for finals, will probably just spend alot of time cleaning it.... So whats the best way to clean... Vinegar, water and alot of scraping?

i like using muriatic acid, do it outside and wear protection. it works fast and attacks only the organics. extra strength vinegar is great also
if you use acid 1:10, 1:20 is a good ration and remember water first then add acid

I do the same as Chris. Muriatic acid. It works well, and quickly. As he said, do it outside and wear protection. And, he's right. Water first, then acid.

good info I was looking for a faster way to clean my tanks instead of vinegar so with the acid how long do u recommend letting the tank sit before setting it up after you clean it?

It's more a matter of rinsing it out well then how long it needs to sit. To keep from dumping the toxic water into the water supply, you can neutralize the acid with baking soda before dumping it out. When I do live rock, I test the ph until I get about 7 or so before I start rinsing.
