Looking for some good equipment that won't break the bank. I'm at vortech pumps and sicce voyager pumps. The vortech pumps are a lil pricy and I would like something a lil cheaper. How are rio pumps and Koralia pumps. Also what are some good LEDs but not the Ecotech raidon LEDs. Also what are some good power heads.

I really like the Vortech's. They are expensive, but they're nice. I've been interested in the Sicce PH's as well. Polly's Pets had one running on one of their display tanks and Steven told me they're good pumps and he's been happy with it. I've used Koralia's in the past and they're not bad. My biggest issue with them is start up noise, a narrow flow pattern and I've had one that would spin the wrong way on start up every once and a while. Overall, not bad for the money.

As far as LEDs go, I'm sure others will chime in but I like Aqua Illumination. I've only run Ai and Radions though (love my Radion!). There's a lot to be said for building your own as well or going with a company that builds them for you. There's a company called Build My LED that's based out of Austin that does this. I've heard good things about them but don't have any direct experience.

Sicce for returns for sure...efficient and quiet and good prices. I currently have a Vortec MP40ES on my 150g and love the product. Yes, it is pricey but well worth it IMO. I am actually going to get a second one. IF they are out of your price range go with the newer Koralia's with a wave maker. I have no experience with LED's...yet.

I have both AI leds and DIY, and tbh I'm feeling the AI's better. More features and looks a lot cleaner.

This is hands down the best led for the money. I own AI and maxspect and this one is every bit as good. http://reefbreeders.com/bridgelux_value.html

With the money you save on the led you can get a vortech :-).

Vortech's and Tunze's are really good pumps, even better when used together. Koralia's get the job done but require multiple pumps

Jaebo's are getting good reviews, but noone's had them long term i.e. year. two years yet. While you could replace your Jaebo many times over for the price of one vortech, I personally feel that Vortech is a proven brand with american based customer service that you can ring up 5 days a week.
